The Dragon’s Christmas
by Georgiana L. Gheorghe
Somewhere in the Crystal Realm,
There was a cheerful atmosphere
In the palace of the Snow Queen.
It’s that time of the year again
With fir trees, garlands, tinsel,
Carols and lights.
No one was merrier than the she-dragon.
She and her friends:
The phoenix, the winged horse
And another dragon with ice pink scales
Were the guests of honor
Of this fabulous party.
Big and small, young and old,
Magical and non-magical
Were waiting for Jolly Old Saint Nick.
Although waiting was kind of boring,
Everyone was having fun.
The she-dragon played
The role of the Christmas Dragon,
The winged horse gave the kids a ride
Through the colorful Northern Lights,
The fiery bird told stories about her adventures
And the pink dragon danced the Nutcracker
On the surface of the crystal lake.
The smell of apples, cinnamon, orange and pine
Filled the air
And everyone was overwhelmed by the aroma
Of the various dishes the servants brought to the Christmas Feast.
How they ate, then danced
Until they heard bells ringing followed
By other sounds.
“Now who could that be?” asked the the queen.
The sounds got louder and out of nowhere,
A fat guy in red and white attire
With brown boots and belt appeared like magic.
It was the guest everyone was expecting,
Father Christmas.
“I wonder how can all those presents
Fit in that sack,” thought the she-dragon
As she was waiting in line
For her wish to be granted by the gift giver.
