Poeziile autoarei sunt pline de înțelepciune și cuvintele alese parcă dintr-un cufăr magic conturează un univers al visării din care nu îți mai dorești să pleci.

The poetry book written by Georgiana L. Gheorghe plans on surprising the readers with what may look like simple themes, but that could seize their imagination and determine them to study their inner selves.

I recommend the book to those who want to get out of their comfort zone and want to rediscover the simple values, the people of the past and love that knows no boundaries.

The author’s poems are full of wisdom and the words she’d chosen like from a magical chest picture a universe of dreams from which you don’t want to leave.

În Georgiana regăsesc o soră literară de suflet, cu o împătimire pentru tot ceea ce este românesc. În versuri m-am regăsit la țară, pe prispă, privind vara iarba dulce din curtea bunicilor. “Ce este viața?” aparține pe drept colecției „Grai românesc”, evocând teme clasice românești fără să fie provocatoare. Georgiana scrie povești în versuri, ce nu își pierd esența nici când sunt traduse în limba engleză. Pe Georgiana o citesc cu plăcere.

In Georgiana I find a sister of literature, with a passion for all that’s Romanian. Within her verses I found myself at the countryside, on the porch, watching the green grass from my grandparents’ front yard on a summer day. “What is life?” rightfully belongs to the “Grai românesc” (Romanian language) collection, exploring classic Romanian themes without being striking. Georgiana writes stories in verse, that won’t lose their essence not even when translated in the English language. I read Georgiana’s poetry with interest.

Volumul „Ce este viața?” al Georgianei Gheorghe are ca motto un citat al lui Voltaire, conform căruia poezia este o muzică a sufletului, îndeosebi a sufletelor sensibile. Georgiana este o fire sensibilă, care încearcă să ne transmită și nouă cititorilor sentimentele sale.

Încă de la începutul volumului său, Georgiana se întreabă „ce este viața?”, întrebare la care încearcă să găsească singură răspunsuri. Își dă seama că viața este de fapt “o junglă” de unde fiecare alegem ceea ce ne este de folos.

După părerea autoarei, “Viața este ca o carte/ Plină de mistere și învățături” (Ce este viața?) cu multe înțelesuri. Cartea este bine structurată pe capitole cu titluri reprezentative precum: iubirea, familia, credința sau dragostea pentru locurile natale. De fapt cred că tocmai credința în Dumnezeu o determină să împărtășească iubirea celor din jurul ei. Iubirea poate lua diferite forme o grădină cu flori, o casă cu ușile deschise, un animal, o vorbă sau un zâmbet. Iubirea este flacăra care arde și care de fapt ne face viața mai frumoasă. Nu contează forma pe care o ia, căci „Sub toate formele, tu iubire, nemurire dai celor care te prețuiesc” (Iubirea).

Iubirea pentru frumos a determinat-o pe autoare să împletească versuri pline de sensibilitate, adunându-le în buchete pe care le oferă cititorilor săi. Iubirea este aripa ce ne poartă  spre Dumnezeu, este sentimentul care ne umple sufletul chiar și atunci când suntem triști, este lumina ce ne călăuzește drumul spre viață. Fiorii primei iubiri sunt creionați în scurte poeme de dragoste, în care autoarea descrie momente petrecute alături de iubirea sa.

Familia reprezintă pionul principal al societății, dar și umărul pe care poeta poate să plângă atunci când o cuprinde tristețea. În centrul acesteia se află mama, privită ca o eroină, “întruchiparea fericirii și a bunătății” (Mama), îngerul trimis de Dumnezeu pentru a ocroti, ființa dătătoare de viață, căreia autoarea îi este veșnic recunoscătoare. Tatăl, asemeni unui Făt-Frumos, a unui cavaler în armură își protejează familia, ajutându-și copiii să descopere lumea, iar fratele este cel cu care Georgiana a simțit mereu că împarte totul.

Nimic nu se poate realiza fără credință, căci aceasta “sălășuiește în inimile noastre” (Credința) ajutându-ne atunci când suntem în necaz. De acest lucru este conștientă și autoarea care închină versuri de laudă Fecioarei Maria, Sfintei Parascheva, Sfântului Andrei și Sfântului Nicolae.

În ultimul capitol al volumului sunt descrise sentimente prin care autoarea se mândrește cu originea sa, cu drapelul țării sale, cu frumusețile patriei, cu frumusețea și puritatea limbii pe care o vorbește.

Folclorul românesc reprezintă rădăcina prin care cu toții ne tragem seva din bogăția neamului nostru.

Astfel îmbinând cele trei aspecte fundamentale ale vieții iubirea, credința și familia, Georgiana Gheorghe reușește să ne transmită printr-un vers inocent, de o puritate uimitoare, care curge lin frumusețea vieții și mândria de a fi român.

The poetry book „What is life?” has one of Voltaire’s quotes as a motto, according to which poetry is the music of the soul, especially that of the sensitive kind. Georgiana is a sensitive soul that tries to express her feelings to us the readers.

At the beginning of the book, Georgiana asks herself „What is life?”, a question that she tries to find the answers on her own. She understands that life is actually „a jungle” from which each of us chooses what is useful.

In the author’s opinion, „Life is like a book/ Full of mysteries and teachings.” (What is life?) with various meanings. The book is well structured on chapters with characteristic titles like: love, family, faith or the love for the native lands. Actually, I believe that her faith in God prompts her to share the love with those around her. Love can take many forms like a flower garden, a house with its doors opened, an animal, a word or a smile. Love is the flame that burns and it actually embellishes our lives. It doesn’t matter what form it takes because „In every form you take, you love, give immortality to those who cherish you” (Love).

Her love for beauty prompted the author to intertwine verses full of sensitivity to make a large bouquet that she gives to her readers. Love is the wing that takes us to God, it’s the feeling that fills our heart even when we are sad, it’s the light that guides us to the path of life. The goose pimples that we have when we first love are briefly pictured in short love poems, in which the author describes the moments spent with her love.  

Family represents the main pawn of society, but also the author’s shoulder to cry on when she’s filled with sadness. Mother represents its nucleus and she’s seen as a heroine, „the image of joy and kindness” (Mother), the angel sent by God to protect, the primordial goddess to whom the author is forever grateful. Like a Prince Charming, a knight in shining armor, the father protects his family, helping his children discover the world and the brother is the one with whom Georgiana always felt like she could share everything.

Nothing can be done without faith because it „dwells in our hearts” (Faith) helping us in our time of need. The author is aware of this, which is why she dedicates verses to the Blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Parascheva of the Balkans, Saint Andrew and Saint Nicholas.  

The last chapter of the book describes the author’s feelings through which she takes pride in her origins, her country’s flag, the beauty of her native land, the beauty and purity of her mother tongue.

The folklore represents the root from which we all extract the sap of riches of our native land.

Therefore, mixing the three fundamental aspects of life love, faith and family, Georgiana Gheorghe succeeds in transmitting through an innocent verse, of an absolute purity, that flows smoothly, the beauty of life and honor of being a Romanian.

Fie că-i parcurg textele, sau doar o privesc, autoarea Georgiana Laura Gheorghe, îmi așterne privirii, un tablou al purității și inocenței, o prospețime și o transparență a stărilor transpusă în cuvinte simple. Poezia ei este asemeni picturii naive, curată și luminoasă.

O apariție grațioasă și rafinată, o voce timidă, într-un conținut poetic rotund, bine definit.

Dacă ai norocul să o asculți recitându-și poeziile, vei fi cucerit iremediabil și-ți vei dori să o asculți iar și iar, să-i simți glasul pătrunzându-te într-o dulce dependență de frumos. Eu așa am „pățit”.

Either noticing her texts flowing easily, or just by watching her, author Georgiana Laura Gheorghe exhibits in front of my eyes, a picture of purity and innocence, a freshness and clarity of the feelings expressed in simple verses. Her poetry is like the naive art, vivid and detailed.

A gracious and refined person, a shy voice, in a well defined, rounded poetic content.

If you are lucky to hear her recite her poems, you will be mesmerized and want to hear her on and on, to feel her voice touching your heart making you enjoy beauty. That’s what „happened” to me.

Ce este viața? is a beautifully written collection of poems by Romanian poet, Georgiana Laura Gheorghe. Each poem possesses the magical ability to transport the reader into the melody of the poem.

Being a fantasy author, I particularly appreciated the images contained within the two Folklore pieces. Georgiana masterfully paints vivid images with words; taking the reader on an enchanted adventure.

Accompanying the captivating poems, which are written in both Romanian and English, are interesting drawings that delight the eye.

I highly recommend Ce este viața? for readers of all genres and ages. I excitedly await more delightful verse from this amazing poet.

„Ce este viața?” este o frumosă colecție de poeme scrisă de poeta româncă, Georgiana Laura Gheorghe. Fiecare poem posedă abilitatea magică de a-l transporta pe cititor în cântecul poeziei.

Fiind un autor de romane fantasy, am apreciat în special imaginile din conținutul celor două poeme dedicate foclorului. Georgiana pictează cu dibăcie imagini clare prin cuvinte; ducându-l pe cititor într-o aventură fermecată.

Ilustrațiile interesante care încântă privirea au fost adăugate poemelor captivante care au fost scrise în română și engleză.

Recomand cu drag „Ce este viața?” cititorilor de toate vârstele și a tuturor genurilor literare. Aștept cu nerăbdare mai multe versuri minunate de la această poetă extraordinară.
